In any event thank you very much for taking the time to try and help me.Īs fan of homm4 and amateur graphic designer I have spent a lot of time by reading posts about modding game. Maybe I went wrong somewhere in the installation ?Īnyway if you have any more tricks up your sleeve I'd be more than happy to make another attempt. And the adventure map is also laggy, which wasn't the case (or was much less noticeable) in the previous Wineskin installation. Unfortunately after following all the above steps and installing Heroes 4, animations in combat are still choppy and slow-motion-like. Not sure about it being that much more user-friendly for a noob like me, but hey, beggars can't be choosers. It might help other Heroes fans like me who sold their soul and got a Mac. I wonder how people manage with more recent games that take up several gigabytes in space.Īnyway, I'll let you know how it works out as soon as I manage to get my hands on that setup file. Unfortunately some of the fixes I found on internet (running the exe file in 16 bits, Windows XP compatibility, etc.) are impossible to implement since I own a Macbook Air. Running the game in different resolutions and / or in windowed mode had no effect either Turning off animations in the game settings only affects the adventure map, which poses no problem to begin with, and has no effect on combat animations Changing the "combat speed" settings doesn't change anything It really is a big issue because it makes the game nearly unplayable during combat and takes away much of the enjoyment of the game (I hate the auto-combat feature) So this lag occurs specifically during battles.
